I played it like 15-20 times so far. It really works, if the team is good. Especially if there is some nearly-global range ally (like Nocturne or Twisted Fate) to pick up the freekills on top, when your enemy tries hard to stop you.
In a normal non-draft, you might end up playing against a Teemo, duo lane or some other very hard matchup, in this case you are probably screwed.
I must admit though, I am nearly always getting flamed by at least one teammate.

Sweet. I've been scouring the internet for times and dates but couldn't find anything until I watched the tail end of week 2 day 2 stream. I see that it starts Thursday 2pm EST (12pm PST), is that correct?

No its not over. There will be 10 week in the winter season and another 10 week in the Summer Season.

The games are every Thursday-Friday for NA and Saturday-Sunday for EU.
